Welcome to the Internet Melayu Website and Blog.

The Internet Melayu Website and Blog is owned by Galadriel, also known as Gal, Sis G and Kak G amongst readers and loyal fans of her Blog. Being a private character, Galadriel prefers to be known by her nickname. Even in the Malaysian internet marketing arena, she is known as Kak G.

Anyhow, her real name would not have any consequence on your money-making ventures nor will it add funds to your PayPal or add clicks to your adsense sites.

Galadriel was born in 1976, which makes her 31 in 2007 and 32 in 2008. For those of you who are above 10 years old, please do not call her Auntie or ‘makcik’ or she will whack you with a Sinclair QL keyboard (see below if you don’t know what a Sinclair QL is or was).

She had her first PC when she was only 9, a Sinclair QL system. Yeah, she’s been typing on the keyboard waaaaaaaay before most of you were born. For those of you who were born after 1987, this is what a Sinclair QL looks like:

Sinclair QL papan

(yes, it’s as thick as ‘papan’ or timber panels).

She later graduated to a better computer system, the 80386, 80486 but used them primarily to play games, type assignments and do simple basic programming. When the Pentium chips came out and the internet was available at her house in 1995, Galadriel learned the joys of surfing the net and chatting with friends.

Between 1996 - 2000, Galadriel studied in England, doing a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Construction. Nevertheless, her love for all things computer-related was still there and she spent most of her university time playing PC games, downloading stuffs, building personal websites on free accounts and designing buildings.

Thankfully, she managed to graduate with honors despite spending most of her time playing PC games such as Age of Empires, Total Annihilation, Civilization, Diablo, Dungeon Keeper, Half-Life, SimCity and Populous.

Galadriel began to look for opportunities to make money online sometime in 2001. Those early years after the New Millennium was a time when most Malaysians were interested in multi-level-marketing (MLMs) and MLMs began to have online systems. Galadriel joined several online ventures, lost some money in the process, made a few bucks here and there, whilst working in the Office.

Through her surfing activities whilst still working for a Boss, Galadriel learned about internet marketing and began considering about venturing into it in 2004. However, it was only in 2005 that Galadriel began to seriously start thinking about building professional websites and blogs to make money. Before, most of her time was spent in local forums such as www.melayu.com (since 1995), reading technology news and building free blogs with Blogger, TBlog and other free platforms.

Her plans were side-tracked by the emergence of the famous MMORPG, World of Warcraft, where she began to spend most of her hours in the WoW servers as an Alliance member, being human, tauren and gnomes at different times. She also played Horde too pn another server. ;)

This was also the time when Galadriel began designing and creating her first hosted website, a large content site.

Thankfully, the MMORPG addiction lasted for only a year and Galadriel does not play WoW anymore. She now concentrates fully on her internet marketing ventures.

The first InternetMelayu Blog was hosted at the free TBlog platform in March 2006. Around 4 months later, Galadriel moved it to a (paid) shared server and used Wordpress as her platform. Since then, the Internet Melayu Blog has moved to the bigger reseller hosting.

Galadriel has been a full-time internet marketer for more than 2 years. In the process, she has taught herself HTML, Dreamweaver, NVU, XSitePro, Photoshop CS2, FTP-ying, SEO, script-installing and other computer-and-internet-related stuffs.

She has also refined the art of ‘typing blog posts whilst surfing 5 sites and editing an image in photoshop and chatting in YM and reading her emails and listening to her ipod touch in one go.

As part of her continuous training in improving her online business, Galadriel has attended many internet seminars conducted both by Malaysian Internet Marketers and overseas marketers.

In 2008, Galadriel has attended Gobala Krishnan’s Internet Millionaire seminars and recently, the JomSeminar conducted by 5 famous Malaysian internet marketers - Yusry, Syed Ikhwan, Alang, Gobala and Fuad Latif.

She was there at the World Internet Mega Summit in Singapore in May 2007 with Zul Smartusaha, Amirol Usahaniaga, Hafiz Bitol and Najmi Yusoff … along with Gobala, Edmund Loh, Melvin Ng, Khai and many others …

Galadriel had attended Derek Gehl’s (of IMC) 3-day Internet Marketing Workshop in Kuala Lumpur in 2006, too to meet with the world-famous successor of the late Corey Rudl.

Locally, Galadriel has participated in the ‘Adsense & Affiliate Seminar’ by Shuth and Kidino (2006), the ‘Saifulsham Internet Seminar’ and ‘2006 Saifulsham Convention’ and various other meet-ups with local Malaysian internet entrepreneurs.

As of time of writing, Galadriel now owns more than 40 websites, ranging from large content websites, small niche sites, salesletter sites, her own digital product sites, multiple blogs and an article directory. She also does freelance writing and translation, product reviews, website design and script installations.

She is a Moderator at the WangCyber Forum and AffiliateJaya Forum. She is also a freelance internet marketing consultant for a large local firm.
